This Email Almost Got Us!

This is an email we actually received here in our office at Open Road Technologies just a few days ago. It passed through our email filters because there is nothing overtly malicious in the text or address. Initially, it looked like it could be legitimate based on the xerox.com email address. John Bruno was in fact appointed CEO of Xerox in November of 2022. However, the President and CEO doesn’t usually email resellers directly and he would NOT direct someone to his personal email address.

These are just a few things to keep a look out for. You really have to think about the context of emails you receive these days. Scammers are smart. You have to be smarter.
